IRCC is slowly beginning to reopen in-person services in select offices by appointment only, beginning the week of September 21, 2020.
IRCC offices will contact to book an appointment. Candidates DO NOT need to contact the offices. The following IRCC offices will offer a few limited services from September 21, 2020.
Citizenship – Vancouver Expo office
Services Provided: Limited citizenship-related services, including citizenship knowledge re-testing and citizenship hearings.
Appointment Scheduling method: By email
Permanent residence – Etobicoke and Montréal offices
Services Provided: Permanent residence-related services such as permanent resident card (PR card) pick up or permanent residence determination (interview to determine the client’s status)
Appointment Scheduling method: By email
Asylum – Calgary, Edmonton, Hamilton, and Niagara Falls offices
Services Provided: Limited asylum-related services such as documents submission, bio metrics and in person interview.
Appointment Scheduling method: By epost
This is a testing phase for the in person appointments. If this pilot goes well, then IRCC will be re-opening services more widely in future.
